Audio Silence Remover

Cut out dead air automatically. The tool trims quiet starts and endings, and optionally the long pauses in the middle, so a recording gets tighter in one step. Adjust how strict it is, then export as MP3 or WAV.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove silence from an audio file?
Add the file and the quiet start and end are trimmed automatically. Switch on the gap option to also cut long pauses in the middle, then adjust the threshold if it is cutting too much or too little, and download.
What does the threshold slider do?
It sets the level below which audio counts as silence. A lower (more negative) value keeps faint detail and only removes true silence; a higher value cuts more aggressively, useful for noisy room tone you want gone.
Will it cut the quiet words in my speech?
It is designed not to. The tool leaves a little padding around the audio it keeps, and only removes stretches that stay quiet for a while, so natural pauses between words survive while the dead air at the ends and the long gaps go.
Is it really free, and is there a watermark?
It is free and there is no watermark, no sign-up and no email wall. You get the full-quality file straight back, with nothing added and nothing held behind a paywall.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your file is read and processed on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is logged or stored.
