Change Audio Volume
Make a track louder or quieter. Slide the gain to boost or cut the level in decibels, or normalize the whole file to its loudest safe peak, then export as MP3 or WAV. The waveform updates so you can see the change.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I increase the volume of a quiet recording?
- Drag the gain slider to a positive value to boost the level, watching the waveform grow. If you want the loudest possible result without distortion, switch on Normalize, which raises the whole file so its loudest moment just reaches the safe maximum.
- What is the difference between gain and normalize?
- Gain applies a fixed boost or cut you choose, measured in decibels. Normalize looks at the loudest peak in the file and scales everything so that peak hits the maximum safe level, which is the best way to even out a recording that is simply too quiet.
- Will turning it up cause distortion?
- Boosting beyond the point where the loudest peaks reach the maximum can clip and distort. Normalize avoids that by design, and the waveform preview shows you when peaks are getting close to the ceiling so you can back off.
- Is it really free, and is there a watermark?
- It is free and there is no watermark, no sign-up and no email wall. You get the full-quality file straight back, with nothing added and nothing held behind a paywall.
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your file is read and processed on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is logged or stored.
